It Started with "Shaped By Play"
The story of our inclusive vision began by studying real children to learn how their lives were shaped and improved by play. Based on those findings, we went on the tell the "Shaped By Play" story through a series of videos illustrating how play serves a crucial purpose in children's lives by providing key opportunities for physical, mental and emotional growth.
Research Shows We Are Shaped by Play
In the whitepaper, Shaped by Play: The Formative Role of Play and Playgrounds, the University of Minnesota Institute of Child Development examines the link between play and brain development, motor skills, and social capabilities. What's been discovered is that emotional, social, motor and cognitive learning is enhanced and accelerated by play. Playgrounds are an essential forum for providing the context and opportunity for children to play and practice key developmental skills.
