Grand Opening of First Inclusive Playground in Ecuador

Landscape Structures, Shane’s Inspiration Celebrate Grand Opening of First Inclusive Playground in Ecuador 

​Dec. 10, 2013 — Landscape Structures Inc., along with its partner Shane’s Inspiration, the only Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization specializing in the design and educational programming of inclusive playgrounds, announce the first inclusive playground in Ecuador. On Friday, Nov. 22, the community opened an 8,880 square-foot inclusive playground in an effort to promote equality, cohesion and social integration among children and families in the community.

The grand opening event welcomed more than 500 people—200 of which were children. The ceremony included speeches, musical performances and Cirque du Soleil-like routines, followed by a traditional opening of the playground to the kids of the community. Children with and without disabilities were paired together to interact and learn from each other.
