Landscape Structures Supports Speakers at Vermont Governor’s Conference 

Sept. 19, 2013 — Landscape Structures, the leading manufacturer of commercial playground equipment, along with its Vermont playground consultant, M.E. O’Brien & Sons, Inc., will welcome Bob and Martha Manning, authors of the beautiful and inspiring book Walking Distance: Extraordinary Hikes for Ordinary People, as the keynote speakers at the 70th Annual Vermont Governor’s Conference on Recreation in Fairlee.

The Mannings will discuss how walking is a defining characteristic of our evolutionary heritage, how it stimulates our thinking, it’s become an intimate way of knowing the world, and how it makes us healthier and happier in the process. Additionally, the Mannings will explain why walking is simple but profound, offer tips on how to prepare for long-distance walking and describe several of the long-distance trails featured in their book.
