Themed playgrounds are part of a district-wide initiative

Park Lakes’ African grassland themed playground is part of a larger initiative within the Humble Independent School District in Humble, TX. All district elementary schools will get a makeover or a completely new playground in the next six years to create more inclusive, imaginative play spaces for school and community children. Each updated playground will evoke a different fantastical world and will be surfaced with wheelchair accessible pour-in-place surfacing.

Imaginative, motor and sensory fun

Back at the savanna, children ages 2 to 5 will enjoy climbing the PlayBooster® mainstructure with its attached crawl tunnel, Rollerslide and twisty slide. Children 5 to 12 can appreciate many ways to explore two different mainstructures -- the angular Alpha® Link Towers with their high spiral or straight slide – or the PlayBooster® structure with bamboo and grass-roof motif.  The firepole, monkey bars, spinner, and O-Zone® 3-Ring Climber provide numerous creative ways to move, climb and hang.  Throughout the play environment kids will discover sensory panels such as a xylophone, a gear spinner, bongo drums and more.

The Playground at Park Lakes Elementary will transport kids of all abilities to a distant land with its savannah theme, while entertaining their sense of play and imagination.
