This Indian-themed playground was designed after the area’s earliest residents, a group of Algonquian people known as Nacotchtank. Kids ages 5 to 12 who visit this park in Berwyn Heights, Maryland, feel like they step back in time. Here they can climb imaginative playstructures shaped like teepees or oversized dream catchers, sit in an Algonquian canoe, talk with friends using custom cornstalk Talk Tubes or gather around the artistically designed concrete totem pole—all while learning about some of the earliest inhabitants of their community.
