Playground Swings

Benefits of Playground Swings

Swinging back and forth is more than it seems. This simple motion fuels the nervous system with visual, vestibular and proprioceptive information. Through swinging, children learn how their bodies move through space, the speed of movements they like, and the motor planning necessary to resist or increase active movement.

Swinging also builds core and grip strength by holding onto the swing and can improve coordination when a child learns to pump their legs and swing by themselves. There are emotional benefits to swinging, too. Often this simple activity helps calm an overstimulated child.

Why Choose Our Swing Sets?

We perform all our design, engineering and manufacturing in-house, so each step is carefully executed under our watchful eyes as we inspire, innovate and evolve ideas. We also use safe, durable materials that are built to withstand years of play and exposure to the elements.

The added value of working with Landscape Structures is that we focus on the why, not just the what. Anyone can replicate equipment, but true innovation stems from understanding the thought behind the design and the courage to ask if there’s a better solution.

For example, plain S-hooks used for swings in the past are not good enough for our standards. We use top-of-the-line Clevis bolts or Swivel Point Connectors because they are more durable and reliable. It's all part of our commitment to quality and innovation, and a tradition of never cutting corners or settling for less. Our unyielding commitment means we deliver the best product, the best service, and the best results for our customers.

Adding or Replacing Playground Swings

We make it easy to incorporate commercial playground swings into your playground design. We offer a wide variety of swings sized right for kids from 6 months to 12 years old and for all levels of abilities. Simply choose a swing frame and add any combination of our swing chains and seats – belt seat, bucket seat or molded bucket seat. Whether you’re looking to swing high on a classic commercial playground swing set, or you want to incorporate a more unique, inclusive option like our two-seated face to face Friendship® Swing or innovative Oodle® swing, we can match the right swing type to your needs and desires.

To prevent your children from inadvertently running into the path of moving swings, swings should be located away from other equipment and activities; commercial swings can never be attached to playstructures.

It's important to follow the maintenance plan provided by the manufacturer for the appropriate frequency of playground inspections. If through these routine inspections you notice a part needs to be repaired or replaced, contact the manufacturer’s local playground consultant. Swings or swing parts must be replaced by the original manufacturer to ensure the safest fit and proper connections. If you aren’t sure of the original manufacturer, check for a company name or safety label on the side of the post or post toppers.

Review any warranty programs as well to see if the equipment or any parts are covered under warranty. Part numbers and descriptions can be found on the back of the installation instruction sheets provided at the time of purchase. If the swing was purchased from Landscape Structures, the warranty information is in the informational binder provided at purchase. If you can’t find the warranty or replacement part information, contact us to help determine if the part is still under warranty.
